Apex Alignment

Coach Nana explains the term "apex," which is an alignment used primarily for outside linebackers. When a coach asks a player to "apex," it means the player should position themselves by splitting the difference between the offensive tackle and the closest receiver. Essentially, if a triangle were drawn from the tackle and the receiver, the apex would be the point of that triangle. This alignment is most commonly used for outside linebackers during a passing coverage.
