Coach Nana explains split field coverages, which are a common variation of full-field coverages like Cover 0 through Cover 4. Split coverages divide the field in half, with each side of the defense playing a different coverage. An example of this is Cover 6, which combines Cover 2 on one side of the field and Cover 4 on the other. On the Cover 2 side, the corner covers the flat, the linebacker covers the hook to curl zone, and the safety covers half of the deep field. On the Cover 4 side, both the corner and the free safety are deep, and the outside linebacker or nickel back covers the flat. The Cover 6 call is derived from adding Cover 2 and Cover 4 together.
